Once again the organisers of the show have put on some truly amazing air displays, featuring a wide variety of modern and historic aircraft. After some initial electrical problems caused delays in readying our fleet, the weekend picked up well. Customer bookings were full and they made use of the scooters, exploring the large range of attractions and watching the exciting aerial displays. The top air attractions this year included the Euro fighter, displaying its amazing aerobatic capabilities. We’ve been busy with a move to a new office and storage facility, but are now gearing up for the 2014 events season. We look forward to seeing you all throughout the year ahead. Many thanks to all the people who donated, it was really appreciated and helped drive me on to complete the Triathlon. I finished the course in 3 hrs 27 mins, which I was pretty happy with, as my first attempt. Thanks to friends and family for the encouragement. We’ve been fortunate to experience our first year of helping at this festival and what a great time we’ve had. From talking with customers around the festival we can tell they’ve appreciated the use of the scooters, as the site is very large and there is so much to explore. With over 100 musical groups/acts having performed over the four days, there’s been something for everyone’s tastes, from dynamic african dance through to orchestral music, with drum and percussion workshops where the public can join in for free! HOW YOU CAN HELP US We need help with a wide variety of tasks to keep our service running. If you feel you could give us a few hours of your valuable time in any of the following ways, please do get in touch. All out of pocket expenses are paid and hours can usually be arranged to suit you. Drivers Drivers are urgently needed to transport the scooter fleet and equipment to and from events throughout the United Kingdom, using 7.5 tonne trucks. Some loading and unloading is required, with the aid of ramps or tail-lifts Event Assistant Dealing with customers, filling in hire forms, handling cash, keeping accurate records. A very reluctant, unsure gentleman came to collect his scooter in the morning but the quote, “I was wrong” came from a very happy, relaxed gentleman when he returned it late in the afternoon. His family were dumbstruck but delighted by his words (pictured above). This to me not only summed up our experience at Chatsworth but also the whole of the summer wherever our service has been used. “Brilliant”, “couldn’t have done without it”, “made my day” are just a few of the oft repeated statements from the majority of our returning customers.
