Bucks County Show 2011

Just how difficult can it be? I was full of trepidation when Ann asked me to do the Buckinghamshire County Show on Thursday the 1st September earlier in the year.

Not only an unknown venue to me, in the deep south (well south of Watford Gap), but also under pressure to drive, immediately after the show ended, back to the Chatsworth Country Fair to have the 20 scooters on the truck available for hire, in enough time to have them fully charged, on the Friday morning bright and early. Never driven the truck in the dark!!

No Pressure then…

But from the moment I arrived it turned into a very enjoyable day. The event management/stewards were extremely friendly and very helpful in showing me to our pitch; complete with electric hook up to enable me to charge the scooters immediately. The sun was shining although a little windy and the forecast was good for the next day.

On the Thursday a fantastic late summer day was enjoyed by all, I would like to think that Ann’s supplications to the Facebook “weather gods” was responsible in some way but is she that powerful?

We met some fantastic people who were able to enjoy the day by using our scooters to view the many events, demonstration and stalls on the show ground.  For details of what  you may have missed or to refresh your memory of the day visitwww.buckscountyshow.co.uk

All our customers came back with positive feedback and a big thank you to the lady who emailed the office with a very positive commendation of our service:

“ Thank you so much for your all of your help at Bucks show and when I phoned to book the scooter. You have been SO helpful and have made my day. I’m only sorry that I did not make it to your stand to meet you all – maybe next year! I hope you continue to thrive and are able to help many more people – THANKYOU!”

On the downside a further apology to the lady who reserved a rear assisted power chair for her mother which despite many hours work in the days before was not functional and the booking had to be transferred to another appliance.

Many thanks to Pete and Em who “volunteered” to come and assist and a special thanks to Em who is now challenging the leaders in the “Fair Mobility Best Bacon Butty” competition!

Thanks again to the organisers – a brilliant show.
